Hariri Foundation established the Houssam Eddine Hariri International Basketball Tournament two years after the tragic death of late founder H.E. Rafic Hariri’s son, Houssam Eddine Hariri, and named it after him. The tournament aimed at promoting sportsmanship among young people, encouraging them to participate in physical activity and lead a healthy lifestyle. Hariri Foundation also established a designated basketball court at Rafic Hariri High School, granting it the same name.
The annual sports tournament brought together the best of Arab and national Class A basketball teams to compete in a safe environment, broadcasted to millions of Arabs live on TV, and offering free access to thousands of young people to attend.
