In 2015, the Hariri Foundation, in partnership with Mercy Corps, MASAR, and IJMAA, initiated the LEARN project to enhance the safety and quality of the learning environment in Lebanon’s public schools. The project involved the physical rehabilitation and equipment provision in 12 target schools. A community partner council was established at each school to promote sustainable improvements to education.

The project also focused on the technical empowerment of students and teachers by increasing access to ICT. This included providing computer hardware and software as well as training on ICT-based curricula tools. Additionally, a network between the schools’ councils was created to facilitate the exchange of strengths, findings, and progress, ensuring the continuation and sustainability of educational improvements.

Through these comprehensive efforts, the LEARN project contributed significantly to enhancing both the physical and educational environments in the targeted schools, empowering students and educators with essential technological skills.
