Supporting the Elderly at Their Homes

Year

1982 – 1983

Address

Saida

Following the Israeli invasion in 1982, Hariri Foundation launched a local initiative in Saida’s historic district to support 30 elderly retired women and men who could not leave their homes due to their physical conditions and who could not afford taking care of their needs. Over the course of two years, the foundation designated a team of trained social workers to run a weekly program of daily follow-ups and inspection to cater for the beneficiaries’ house hygiene and personal hygiene and to secure necessary medical and logistic requirements, including daily hot meals.

The project team also coordinated with the foundation’s local Hariri Social & Medical Center to assign periodic health inspection visits to beneficiaries’ homes by general and specialized physicians.
