YRLF 2nd Edition
Under the patronage of the Ministry of Environment, the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development launched the second edition of the Youth Rise of Lebanon Forum, with this year’s central theme, the Blue Economy, highlighting the potential of Lebanon’s marine and coastal resources to drive sustainable development and contribute to Lebanon’s economic recovery.
The forum brought together a diverse group of youth, experts, academics, and key stakeholders to engage in discussions on Lebanon’s economic and environmental transformations.
Hariri Foundation team presented data and insights into the country’s current challenges and opportunities, exploring global and national frameworks addressing climate and economic challenges, particularly within the fields of the Blue Economy.
Youth participants from the Lebanon Blue Economy Ideathon pitched their solutions to challenges in fisheries, port management, and coastal tourism. Winning teams were selected to proceed with incubation and support from Berytech. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Hariri Foundation and Berytech further underscored their commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Lebanon.

Networking Pavilion
The forum’s Networking Pavilion provided a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, featuring three main sections:
Innovation Section
Highlighting entrepreneurs and startups who participated in the Lebanon Blue Economy Ideathon, showcasing their innovative projects.
Research Section
Led by the Marine Science Center of the CNRS, this section emphasized the importance of scientific research in advancing the Blue Economy.
Policy Section
Hosted by the Hariri Foundation’s Blue Economy expert, this section presented key findings from the National Dialogue on the Blue Economy, fostering policy discussions and alignment.
In recognition of their contributions, the Hariri Foundation honored Dr. Nasser Yassin, Minister of Environment, for his leadership and dedication to sustainable development.
The second edition of the Youth Rise of Lebanon Forum reaffirms the Hariri Foundation’s commitment to investing in youth and leveraging Lebanon’s Blue Economy for a more sustainable future. By linking scientific research to societal needs and fostering innovation, the forum aspires to create a resilient and dynamic Lebanese society capable of managing resources and creating lasting opportunities.
