In 2007, Hariri Foundation established a hub for promoting and mainstreaming youth volunteering opportunities across Saida. The center liaised between schools and service programs and connected organizations willing to grow their volunteer base while promoting volunteerism through outreach programs. Through the center, Hariri Foundation provided trainings for civil society organizations, service institutions, and municipalities on volunteer recruitment and management. Trainings were also offered to local companies on how to integrate corporate volunteering in their business models.
The center allowed organizations offering volunteer opportunities to continually recruit volunteers through constant exchange of information and coordination on human resources with the center. In parallel, trainings were offered to prospective volunteers on volunteering principles, best practices and selection of relevant opportunities. Prospective volunteers then received the chance to view available opportunities and were offered mentorship for application by trained staff members.
