Earth Market – Saida

2008 – 2009

South Lebanon

In 2008, Hariri Foundation partnered with the Italian NGO UCODEP and Slow Food Beirut to organize the local “Earth Market” in Saida. The market was one of 3 available markets organized in Lebanon, including in Tripoli, Saida, and Hamra Street, Beirut and funded by the “ROSS” program. The project aimed at supporting local production and traditional food types, while fostering an exchange of experiences and trade relations between producers and farmers.

The market, organized on a weekly basis in Hariri Foundation’s Khan El Franj, acted as a platform for producers and farmers from across South Lebanon to sell their organic agricultural products and healthy foods directly to consumers, while promoting sustainable agricultural practices and healthy food choices.
