In 2010, Hariri Foundation collaborated with the Islamic Development Bank and UN-ESCWA to develop the Arab Woman Observatory. The observatory aims at empowering the Arab woman to assume a proactive role in the regional developmental process. The observatory is missioned to enhance public awareness on issues pertaining to the status of Arab women, building the individual and institutional capacity of all stakeholders on the subject matter.
The observatory developed a gender-disaggregated database, The Arab Gender Index methodology, disseminating The Lebanon Country Profile as a benchmark for other profiles across the Arab region.
