Following the liberation of South Lebanon from Israeli occupation, Hariri Foundation organized a mass campaign entitled “South Lebanon in the Heart of Lebanon,” aimed at promoting national citizenship among children born and raised in South Lebanon during the occupation.
Kicked off on the 25th of June 2000, the project featured several visits organized for 24,860 students and their families from the liberated areas to the city of Beirut, the city of Baalbek, and the Baabda Presidential Palace., thus introducing them, for the first time, to the national capital and other monuments of national value.
