Following the Israeli invasion in 1982, Hariri Foundation mobilized its resources to provide assistance to people affected by the hostilities across South Lebanon. The foundation conducted a mass survey of the war damage to humans and property and provided in-kind and financial assistance to thousands of families. War remnants of 3,500 demolished homes were removed, and 50,000 affected households and students across South Lebanon received medical and food supplies as well as clothing and stationery.
Hundreds of displaced citizens and refugees were also received and provided shelter where needed. The foundation soon conducted a mapping of all refuging families who resorted to Saida, catering for their needs and restoring their houses.
