In 2006, Hariri Foundation partnered with the National Committee for Public Schools, the Lebanese Ministry of Education & Higher Education, the Educational Center for Development & Research, the Association of Private Schools in Lebanon and the Lebanese Syndicate of Private Teachers in a joint effort to transform tens of schools across Lebanon into community centers. The project aimed at strengthening students’ commitment towards their community, promoting citizenship and developing a spirit of social responsibility.
The project sought to enhance the skills of both students and teachers to become active members of society, creating a network of teachers for the exchange of best practices in conflict resolution and community service learning in the targeted schools.
