Projects Authority | Urban Renewal of Saida

In partnership with the Municipality of Saida, Hariri Foundation established its renowned Projects Authority in order to respond to the devastation caused by the civil war and the Israeli occupation. The authority took was mainly responsible for the removal of building debris as well as the physical development, restoration and upgrade of urban facilities and infrastructural networks. Physical interventions took place in partnership with the Council for Development & Reconstruction, the South Lebanon Governorate, and the Municipality of Saida.

Key underlying projects for the establishment of new urban facilities and upgrade of urban infrastructure include:

  • Rafic Hariri Sports City – Saida’s Municipal Stadium | 2000
  • Justice Palace in Saida | 1996 – 2001
  • Hesbeh Vegetable Market of Saida | 1985
  • New Slaughterhouse of Saida | 1985
  • New Saida Cemetery in Serob | 1994 – 1998
  • Bahaa Eddine Hariri Development Complex | 1997
  • Maarouf Saad Cultural Educational Center
  • Saida Street Network | 1982 – 1998
  • Wastewater Pumping Station in Saida | 1996
