For over 40 years now, Hariri Foundation has been committed to promoting sustainable urban development across Lebanese cities and urbanized vicinities, accounting for 89% of the national population. The foundation has mainstreams localized models of community participation in local policy dialogue, capitalizing on global and scientific approaches to public participation and evidence-based decision making. Working with local communities to restore hundreds of housing blocks and public facilities in conflict areas, the foundation adopts a multi-agency approach in building urban resilience, integrating local actors in recovery planning to build back better.  The foundation strives to build the capacities of civic actors and to engage them in local co-creative spaces aimed at building local ownership for crisis response and urban development.
